MORE than 400 cosplay enthusiasts turned up on Saturday evening for a cosplay competition and parade at The Cathay as part of the fifth edition of J-Obsession, a cosplay extravaganza.
A trio dressed up as characters from television anime show Kill La Kill took the top prize in the competition. They were one of 11 acts that took the stage to perform in character.
Mr Jovi Lum, 23, Ms Sindy Tay, 23, and Ms Sabrina Wong, 24, performed a comedy skit with a script written by Mr Lum. They won an Olympus PEN camera worth more than $1,000 and shopping vouchers worth more than $1,200. A large advertisement of them will also be displayed at The Cathay for a month, starting in July.
The group met through prop-making cosplay circles.
