In Time With You scores big wins at Taiwan's Emmys

Taipei - In Time With You, the will-they-won't-they Taiwanese romance, had a happy ending all over again last Friday night when it won seven Golden Bell Awards, including Best Television Series.

The show - which stars Chen Bo-lin and Ariel Lin as best friends who may or may not pair off - was a pop cultural phenomenon in Taiwan late last year, a companion of sorts to You Are The Apple Of My Eye, the film also about high school and first love.

Chen's character, airline supervisor Li Da-ren, who has carried a torch for Lin's character for years, became a byword for romantic devotion.

The musings of the characters, in their 30s, about "early old age", became buzzwords, too.
