The Straits Times' new microsite: Interact directly with journalists

Interact directly with your favourite writers at the new ST Entertainment microsite, stcommunities.straitstimes.com, launched on Monday.
Think of it as your new hangout spot on the Internet.
The latest showbiz news headlines can be found here and readers can offer their own opinions and also post photos and videos and interact with The Straits Times' journalists in a more immediate fashion.
Whether or not you agree with the reviews and commentaries by the writers, tell them.
There are four different entertainment communities: Movies, Music, TV and Show, which covers theatre, dance and visual arts.
Life!'s writers are excited about the new microsite.
Film correspondent John Lui says: "It's something I have been waiting for: A direct, fun way to get to know people who love movies." He hopes to see readers' videos, sound clips and photos of their movie collections.
It is a channel for the writers to share as well and music correspondent Eddino Abdul Hadi will be posting "pretty much anything music related" from the most interesting new music and music videos to gigs worth checking out.
Under the Show section, Life! deputy editor Ong Sor Fern will be sharing information about upcoming shows and festivals and reactions to things she has seen.
As a longtime arts reporter, she is usually surrounded by people who talk and breathe the arts and hence: "It'll be very educational to see what the average ST reader has to say about the arts."
Mr Felix Soh, digital media editor of Singapore Press Holdings' English and Malay Newspapers Division, says the idea behind ST Entertainment is to "connect, engage and interact" with readers.
Other communities, such as the food community, will be rolled out in due course.
