The Butter Factory ends KL franchise agreement because of 'numerous breaches'
Homegrown nightlife brand The Butter Factory is taking back the name and branding rights from its franchisee in Kuala Lumpur.
The company announced in a press release today that is has terminated the franchise agreement with Malaysian operator JV Entertainment - which operates The Butter Factory KL - due to "numerous breaches by JVE of the franchise agreement".
The release said that these included "breaches of non-competition clauses and breaches that The Butter Factory Group views as impairing its long-standing reputation, goodwill, value and operational standards".
The Butter Factory KL opened in August 2012 at a cost of $2.45 million.
