Spring cleaning for Chinese New Year in full swing

With Chinese New Year less than a month away, the traditional spruce-up of households - to sweep away ill fortune before the festivities - is already in full swing.
Demand for spring cleaning services is up by about five to 10 per cent in the several weeks leading up to Chinese New Year compared to the same period last year, said five of 10 cleaning companies in a check by SundayLife!
Already some of these companies are almost fully booked for the last two weeks before Chinese New Year. Demand is running at 10 to 60 per cent higher than in normal off-peak times.
Unlike regular cleaning sessions, spring cleaning provided by these companies is more thorough. It usually includes degreasing the kitchen and scrubbing hard-to-reach areas.
