LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Bond blockbuster Skyfall joined already Oscar-tipped films like Steven Spielberg's Lincoln and Iran spy drama Argo on the Producers Guild of America (PGA) best film shortlist, it was announced on Wednesday.

Osama bin Laden manhunt movie Zero Dark Thirty and Quentin Tarantino's brutal western Django Unchained were also among 10 films nominated by the PGA, whose choices have a history of pointing towards Oscar glory.

Skyfall by director Sam Mendes is the first 007 movie to make it onto the PGA shortlist, putting it alongside a bevy of films that have already gained Oscars buzz as Hollywood's annual awards season hots up.

Others nominated for the PGA's Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award include musical adaptation Les Miserables by Tom Hooper and Life of Pi by Taiwanese-American Ang Lee, both also already Oscar tipped.
