Singer Long Piao-Piao, 54, does 99 shows a year and does not want to retire
Veteran Taiwanese singer Long Piao-Piao says she has cut back on her commercial singing gigs but she still does as many as 99 shows a year.
In a chat with local press to promote her upcoming gig here, Long, 54, she says in Mandarin: "I've been very busy with church activities, which includes overseas performances. I still do some commercial shows, like how I was in Malaysia at the end of last year, and went on a China TV show as a guest judge."
Known as the queen of Lunar New Year tunes, she will spend Chinese New Year in Singapore, performing on the second day of the New Year (Feb 11), at the Kreta Ayer People's Theatre.
Asked if she has ever considered retiring from the scene, she shrugs her shoulders and says: "If you say I've retired, that's not really it, but if you say I haven't, that isn't the case either. I've been doing what I have for so long, I can't retire."
