Singapore International Film Festival returns next year as part of bigger film event
A bigger and more comprehensive film and television event is coming in end 2014.
The Singapore International Film Festival, now called SGIFF, and Asian Television Awards will be held together with ATF and ScreenSingapore to "form a larger-scale and multi-faceted event that will provide more benefits to regional and international trade participants". The week-long event does not have a finalised name yet.
Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim made this announcement during the opening ceremony of the trade media events Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) and ScreenSingapore 2013.
Ms Yuni Hadi will be the festival director for next year's edition. She is a producer on the critically-acclaimed film Ilo Ilo and a former co-director of the festival, which has not been held since 2011.
