Two Singapore artists have been picked for the Guggenheim Museum's inaugural exhibition of South and South-east Asian art.
Artist-film-maker Ho Tzu Nyen and veteran artist Tang Da Wu, join 22 artists and art collectives picked by Singapore curator June Yap for No Country: Contemporary Art For South And Southeast Asia.
The show, to open in New York on Feb 22, is the first exhibition of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative. Backed by the banking and financial services group UBS, the programme intends to highlight regions under-represented in the international art scene.
In an email response, Yap told Life! the curatorial considerations behind this show "reflect both the project and its scope".
