Shakespeare's Globe, the celebrated London theatre company, will perform for the first time here at Fort Canning Park in October.

From October 2 to 13, it will present The Taming Of The Shrew with an all-female cast, one that promises to be up close and personal. Audience members in front might even get to lean on the stage - just as they would in a production at the Globe.

An intimate Elizabethan-style stage that will be built from scratch by the Fort Gate in the park and the venue will seat 800. Tickets range from $68 (student tickets) to $138.

The popular Shakespeare play Taming Of The Shrew revolves around a pair of wealthy sisters who are of marriageable age - but they could not be more different.
