If you were waiting for Oscar validation before catching some films, here is some good news. Some titles which won at the Academy Awards on Sunday night (March 2 in the US) will be back for a second run in cinemas here.

The biggest winner of the night with seven statuettes from 10 nominations, was Alfonso Cuaron's sci-fi drama Gravity. It won a slew of technical awards as well as a best director nod for Cuaron.

It had a run of 10 weeks in cinemas when it first opened on Oct 10 and made $3.8 million. It re-opened on Feb 20 in 3-D and 3-D Imax, ahead of the Oscars ceremony, and has earned $39,114 as of Monday .

Even a movie with a smaller haul is having a second run. Spike Jonze's sci-fi romance Her was nominated in five categories, including best picture, and won for best original script. It earned closed to $240,000 during its original six-week run.
