Running Man star Kim Jong Kook wants his fans to remember him as a singer
You may not know Korean entertainer Kim Jong Kook is an established singer, but you may heard of the wildly popular variety show Running Man, on which he is one of its biggest stars.
Kim, 36, is part of a regular cast of Running Man, which sees cast compete against one another or against a team of celebrity guests in random sporting challenges. But he has also released eight solo albums.
In Singapore recent for his first fan meet, he says in a mix of Korean and slightly halting English: "I'm not worried about my Korean fans because they know I am a singer, but I'm a little worried about my foreign fans who know me more from Running Man. But it's still nice that they support me."
The brawny singer is a fixture on Running Man, which airs on One (StarHub Channel 823 and SingTel mio TV Channel 513) on Fridays. On the show, he is affectionally named Sparta-kook, because the sneak attacks he pulls off are associated with sound clips of Sparta from the action movie 300 (2007).
