Rowling's Casual Vacancy is No. 1 at Kinokuniya

The boy wizard is gone, but J.K. Rowling has still produced enough magic to displace Fifty Shades Of Grey on the bestseller list at one major bookstore here.
The Casual Vacancy, Rowling's first book since ending the Harry Potter franchise, unseated the erotic novel at the top of Books Kinokuniya's bestseller list for the last week of September - albeit while selling at a 30 per cent discount.
A social drama about an idyllic English village, The Casual Vacancy had received mixed reviews
Released at exactly 3pm on Sept 27, it went on to sell almost 1,000 copies in a four-day period.
