Proposal for Arts Fest makeover unveiled

The Singapore Arts Festival could return with a different look next year if recommendations by the Arts Festival review committee are implemented.
Instead of being organised by the National Arts Council (NAC), the festival could be run by an independent company set up by the arts agency.
It could also have a permanent home, a festival centre in the city that would house its office and also offer smaller spaces for rehearsals and performances so that the festival can engage the public year-round.
These recommendations are part of a report released today by NAC, which appointed the 17-member review committee last July. The report also includes insight from six public feedback sessions held last year.
