Taiwanese singer Yoga Lin started his music career in a big way when he won the inaugural season of popular Taiwanese singing competition One Million Star in 2007.

Despite having gone from strength to strength since then, and has performed at venues as large as the Taipei Arena and Hong Kong Coliseum, he expresses a yearning to develop his "indie" self.

Speaking to Life! at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel on Monday (Oct 8), Lin, 25, reveals he would like to develop a more intimate relationship with music, to "start from the very beginning", just like independent artists plying the campus concert circuit in Taiwan.

"What I'm doing is appreciated by the masses, but the aspect that fulfils myself is empty. That is why I have plans to release work independently," he adds.
