"Poison-tongued judge" Phil Chang in a new TV singing competition

Call him Taiwan's Simon Cowell.
Phil Chang earned himself the title of "Poison-tongued Judge" in five seasons of the popular Taiwanese TV singing contest, One Million Star. His no-holds-barred put-down of amateur singers dashed many hopes.
Now, the veteran Taiwanese crooner is back on a new singing competition - to give it to the professionals.
He is one of 12 judges on new talent competition Asian Wave, now airing Mondays on cable channel E City. It is akin to the Eurovision contest for musicians across Europe, except it features singers who have recorded albums, garnered a fan following, put on a small concert or received an award or two.
