New head of National Art Gallery Chong Siak Ching wants the art to come first
The new head of the National Art Gallery, Singapore believes "the art has to come first".
Ms Chong Siak Ching steps down from her post as president of business-space solutions provider Ascendas to become chief executive of the Gallery on April 1.
The multiple award-winning businesswoman says the opportunity to take on this new challenge was just what she was looking for.
The energetic Ms Chong, who looks a lot younger than her 54 years, tells Life!: "When this opportunity came up, I felt it resonated with what I have already been doing - promoting Singapore's expertise and competencies. Art is an area I am particularly interested in and it gives us a chance to promote Singapore through art."
