A new creative community, comprising mostly visual artists, has found a home in a school building along Turf Club Road.

Blue House Village, as it is called, is housed in a four storey building, and consists of 15,500 sq ft studios spread out over the second and third floors. The first floor is occupied by The Blue House International School, a nursery and kindergarten for children between the ages of 18 months to six years in a house in the same grounds. A student hostel occupies the fourth floor.

The owners of the school, Shona and Ben Sanosi, wanted to build a creative community where resident artists as well as others in artistic fields including music and drama could regularly interact with their students.

And so, earlier this year, they decided to convert part of the building for artists, offering them an artist-in-residence programme.
