Motown loses another member of The Temptations
LOS ANGELES (AFP) - The Temptations, one of Motown's most successful acts, has lost a second former member in less than a fortnight with the death of Richard Street, United States (US) news media reported on Thursday.
Street, 70, died on Wednesday in a Las Vegas hospital where doctors found a clot in one of his lungs after he complained of breathing difficulties, his wife Cindy Street told CNN.
"He was part of black history," she said. "He was always proud of that. He sang on a lot of those classic songs: Papa Was a Rollin' Stone, Hey Girl, Heavenly, Superstar, Masterpiece."
Street was with the ensemble from 1971 through 1993.
