Monty Python star John Cleese coming to Singapore on May 4, his first-ever show in Asia

English comedian John Cleese will do a stand-up performance at the University Cultural Centre (UCC), National University of Singapore on May 4.
Best known for being one of the founding members of acclaimed comedy group Monty Python and for his roles in Hollywood films such as A Fish Called Wanda and animated series Shrek, the show will be his first live performance in Asia.
The actor, 74, also starred and co-wrote 1970s British sitcom Fawlty Towers.
Monty Python, which started in 1969 as a sketch television series, Monty Python's Flying Circus, went on to become a cult phenomenon that spawned live shows, albums, a musical and movies such as Monty Python's Life Of Brian (1979) and Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life (1983).
