For a busy three-Michelin-starred chef like Heston Blumenthal, his idea of a "vacation" is travelling overseas for culinary events.

From Nov 22 to 25, The Fat Duck owner, 46, will be headlining the inaugural Margaret River Gourmet Escape food festival, where he is looking to "catch up with friends with good wine and food".

Travel packages and tickets from Dynasty Travel are available for local diners who are keen to catch him and other chefs such as Tetsuya Wakuda of Tetsuya's in Australia and Rene Redzepi of Noma in Denmark.

Speaking over the telephone to Life! from London, the chatty chef spoke enthusiastically about his upcoming projects, from tweaking restaurant menus to filming for his new food series, which has yet to be named.
