Actress-director Christina Sergeant, 57, died in the wee hours of Sunday (Feb 17) morning.

The Straits Times understands that she was hospitalised in early February with what was believed to have a kidney problem, and had been seeing a doctor regularly since then. It appears that she intended to seek further treatment.

The well-loved teacher and mentor leaves behind three children aged 26, 19 and 15, and her Singaporean husband, Mr B.K. Tan.

Her Facebook page has been filling with an outpouring of comments from colleagues, students, friends and family.
