LOS ANGELES (AP) - Steven Spielberg's Civil War saga Lincoln, the Victor Hugo musical adaptation Les Miserables and the lost-soul romance Silver Linings Playbook led the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards with four nominations each on Wednesday.

All three films were nominated for overall performance by their casts. Also nominated for best ensemble cast were the Iran hostage-crisis thriller Argo and the British retiree adventure The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

The SAG Awards, presented on Jan 27, are one of Hollywood's first major announcements on the long road to the Feb 24 Academy Awards, whose nominations will be released on Jan 10.

Nominations for the Golden Globes, the second-biggest film honours after the Oscars, come out on Thursday.
