Latin American food is the latest trend to hit the Singapore food scene.

Say "A" for arepa, a flat, round bread made from cornmeal; "B" for bunuelos, fried dough balls; and "C" for ceviche, a dish of raw fish marinated in citrus juices.

In the last four months, no fewer than six restaurants offering Latin American fare from Mexico to Colombia, have opened here.

They include four-month-old Mexican eatery Lucha Loco in Duxton Hill, three-month-old South and Central American-inspired bar-bistro Ocio at The Grandstand in Bukit Timah, 11/2-month old Colombian restaurant La Barra at The Star Vista, and South American restaurant Sur Nueva Latino Kitchen in North Canal Road, which opened two weeks ago.
