Chinese opera star Joanna Wong will perform in a full-length show for the last time on Saturday.

The 73-year-old Cultural Medallion recipient will assume the titular role in Woman Emperor Wu Ze Tian, a Chinese Theatre Circle Production (CTC).

Wong chose to put on the show - based on the ascent of China's first and only female emperor - to mark her 60th anniversary in the opera world.

While Wong will not grace the stage for full-length shows, she does not intend to stop working.
