Lingerie Football League: It's not about the lingerie, it's about sports

When you are playing for something called the Lingerie Football League, you cannot help but be bombarded with criticisms.

The North American league which has American football players wearing only sports bras, booty shorts and garters, has unsurprisingly been blasted for sexually exploiting women.

But one of the league's players, Canadian athlete Stephanie Manou of the team BC Angels, insists that the game is ultimately about the sport and not the outfits.

The 26-year-old tells Life! over the telephone from her home in Vancouver, Canada: "Maybe people who first come for the games are watching it for the girls, but once they start watching, they actually get really interested in the sport itself. They realise that we are really serious about the games and that we put in everything when we play.
