Diego Fazio holds solo exhibition of photorealistic portraits in Singapore
Artist Diego Fazio - better known as DiegoKoi - is holding a solo exhibition in Singapore of 10 of his black-and-white photorealistic pencil portraits. The show opens at Raffian Art gallery at Queen Street on Jan 26, and prices range from $3,000 to $18,500.
Titled Sensations, it will feature a work called Rampage, which won him a prestigious Italian award, the Cairo Prize, last year. It is a drawing of an old man with a heavily-lined brow and an intense stare.
Fazio only started drawing in 2007 and gained recognition by posting his drawings on websites such as Facebook and DeviantArt, an online community which allows users to share their original artworks.
Now, the 23-year-old Italian has almost 37,000 fans on Facebook, far surpassing the 2,000 fans on British artist Damien Hirst's page.
