HK actor-singer Leon Lai announces end of marriage

Hong Kong - Hong Kong actor-singer Leon Lai and model Gaile Lai have gone their separate ways.

A statement issued by their management company yesterday (wed) said that they decided to split up after considerable thought. They made the decision despite still caring for each other and "having spent many lovely moments together" as a couple because they faced serious differences in their "life philosophies", it added.

The statement asked for privacy for the two, so that they can adapt to their new lives and focus on their work, Ming Pao Daily News reported.

Recent reports have cited their character differences and age gap - he is 45 and she 32 - as contributing to a troubled marriage.They began dating in 2005 and wed three years later in Las Vegas.
