Haute hawker food for charity on Oct 20

A group of Singapore's most well-known hawkers will be coming together to cook and raise money for a good cause on Oct 20.

But instead of offering their already delicious hawker fare done the usual way, they will be serving upscale versions of their famed dishes. These will be made with premium ingredients, ranging from wagyu beef and Iberico pork to lobster and chickens bred without antibiotics or hormones.

Participating hawker stalls include Tian Tian Chicken Rice, Hock Lam Beef, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh and Geylang Lorong 29 Fried Hokkien Mee.

Dubbed the Ultimate Hawker Fest, the event takes place in the open-air atrium and carpark area outside Millenia Walk from 5 to 10pm. It is in aid of non-profit welfare organisation Touch Community Services, and is jointly organised by the charity and medical doctor and food blogger, Dr Leslie Tay of ieatishootipost.sg
