American blues/country/rock guitarist-singer Bonnie Raitt will play her first gig in Singapore on the second night of music festival Timbre Rock & Roots at Fort Canning on March 21 and 22.
The 63-year-old, who took home the Best Americana Album prize at the Grammy Awards last week for her 19th album, Slipstream, says that the audience can expect a rocking set.
"Because it's outdoors, we probably won't be doing a lot of ballads," she tells Life! in a telephone interview from California.
"It's going to be uptempo - a lot of rockers, a lot of blues, a lot of slide guitar. I'll be featuring songs from my new album and hits from the Nick Of Time (1989) and Luck Of The Draw (1991) era, and hopefully one or two classic R&B rockers from the old days."
