Austrian film-maker Michael Haneke, many of whose works have controversial subjects, is often called an intimidating person to work with.

But veteran French actress Isabelle Huppert, who has worked with Haneke on three movies, tells Life! that he is actually very "easy" to work with.

In fact, she says he is not all that different from the "warm, funny" director Claude Chabrol, whom she has worked with seven times: "They plan scenes carefully and also at the same time let you imagine the characters as actors.

"I guess with Haneke, he just likes certain actors. He likes the people he chooses."
