French home furnishings brand Habitat makes its return to the Singapore market later this year, when it takes up a 1,500 sq m retail space in Jurong East.
Come October, Habitat will open at the Big Box, an eight-storey complex in Jurong East, says Mr Vincent Destailleur, chief executive officer of Cafom, a French home furnishings retailer, which bought Habitat in 2011.
Mr Destailleur, who spoke to Life! at the Maison&Objet Asia furniture fair which is taking place at Marina Bay Sands now, says: "In the last two years, we have refreshed the concept of Habitat, and we're ready to expand into the Asian region. The Singapore market will get most of the items such as lighting, home accessories and furniture that the other markets do."
The news of Habitat's opening comes as Japanese home and lifestyle furniture brand Francfranc announced on Friday that it will shut its two outlets here by May. Their two stores are in VivoCity in Harbourfront and JCube in Jurong East.
