There are now more holiday options for those who want to acquire new knowledge while on vacation.

SundayLife! found at least seven organisations in Singapore and abroad conducting study trips, where travellers learn about anything from history to painting to a new language.

Non-profit organisation Friends of the Museums Singapore holds five to seven study tours a year to various parts of Asia. Participants must attend pre-trip meetings and present research on the country they visit.

And local art club My Art Space conducts painting trips to destinations such as Bali. Studio owner Chankerk Teh, 45, gives participants tips during daily painting sessions.
