First batch of students from the Culinary Institute of America's local campus graduate today
After an intense two-year course, the first batch of 33 students from the Culinary Institute of America's campus here graduate today (Jan 29).
Under the institution's degree programme, they earn a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Culinary Arts Management.
More than 60 per cent of them have already secured jobs in the food and hospitality industry here. The remaining students, who have just returned from overseas internships, will be looking for jobs.
The graduation ceremony, with CIA alumnus Cat Cora as guest speaker, took place at the CIA's premises at Temasek Polytechnic. The renowned New York-based culinary school, which was founded in 1946, opened its first overseas campus here two years ago, in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Technology.
