After 12 years with Restaurant Ember, its chef Sebastian Ng will leave by end April to open another restaurant.

Chef Sufian Zain, who previously worked at Iggy's and Waku Ghin, will take over the reins in May and is currently in training with Ng.
Ng says his new restaurant will be a Western casual dining one.

It is slated to open by the end of this year or early next year and is also in partnership with Mr Loh Lik Peng of the Unlisted Collection group, which also owns Restaurant Ember.

Ng, 39, says: "I have had plans to work on something else. At Restaurant Ember, we faced labour issues and it's not easy to hire staff. With a casual concept, it will be less labour intense."
