Entrepreneur Kelly Lim has backaches occasionally because of the tight squeeze in her bed. Her whole family usually joins her at bedtime - husband Alan, their 15-month-old daughter Charlotte and her "kor kor".

The little girl calls their three-year-old pomeranian Fluffy "kor kor" (Cantonese for big brother).

Ms Lim, 38, who runs an apparel business, says: "My husband normally sleeps on one side, my daughter in the middle and me on the other side. Fluffy sleeps on top of the blanket."

It may seem strange to others that some dog lovers let their pets sleep on their beds, but experts do not necessarily advise against it.
