Cop comedy Ride Along still leads North American box office
LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Cop comedy Ride Along led the North American box office for a second weekend, industry figures showed on Monday.
The action film starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube easily outpaced its rivals, earning US$21.3 million (S$21.2 million) in the United States and Canada, box office tracker Exhibitor Relations reported.
In second place with US$12.9 million was Lone Survivor, the Afghanistan war drama starring Mark Wahlberg based on the true story of a disastrous Navy SEAL commando raid targeting an extremist fighter.
Children's movie The Nut Job, a tale about a squirrel forced to survive in the big city after being banished from his park, was in third place with US$12.1 million in earnings over the three-day weekend.
