She was the first ever Australian based designer to show in Paris Fashion Week, and the South-African-born Australia-based designer Collette Dinnigan once again was a trendsetter ahead of the fashion pack from Down Under by presenting her Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection on day two of the Audi Fashion Festival here in Singapore.
Into its fifth installment, the five day fashion fiesta has definitely helped Dinnigan break into the rapidly growing affluent Asian market and it was a showcase that the designer deemed "a huge success".
The blonde, long-locked Dinnigan, famed for her ladylike designs featuring delicate lace and exquisite embellishments, did not disappoint with her collection of intricate gowns and cheeky pieces - many of which tantalised the fashionista crowd with titilating flashes of skin.
No surprise at all that the crowd - largely from Singapore, recently deemed one of the top three richest countries in the world - lapped it up. "There is such a huge, growing population of consumers in Asia, especially Singapore. It's fantastic, lots of stores approached us after the show wanting to stock the product," she said.
