Chinatown is new hotspot for hostels

In the past year alone, at least five new hostels have opened in the area - including second and third outlets for chains such as Rucksack Inn and 5footway.inn.
They cater to all types for travellers: from backpackers on a shoestring budget, flashpackers willing to spend more on accommodation, and families wanting to keep travel costs down.
Mr Adler Poh, 25, owner of Adler Hostel in South Bridge Road, says of the ethnic enclave's appeal: "Chinatown has good, cheap eats. The usual attraction such as Clarke Quay and Marina Bay are within walking distance, as is the MRT."
