Berliner Ensemble to come for Singapore International Festival of Arts

The Berliner Ensemble will be coming to Singapore as one of the headliners of the revamped Singapore International Festival of Arts.
Founded by the late playwright Bertolt Brecht, one of the changemakers of theatre history, the iconic German theatre company will be staging J.M. Barrie’s beloved Peter Pan with a “Tim Burton feel”, as described by festival director Ong Keng Sen.
With a Peter Pan more similar to David Bowie than cherubic child, Mr Ong says: “The focus is really on the subterranean world of a child’s mind."
The show will run from Sept 11 to 13 at a venue yet to be confirmed, and will be performed in English and German. The festival itself will span six weeks, from Aug 12 to Sept 21.
