Gaining weight made Taiwanese singer-actor Richie Jen shy away from publicity and concerts.
After putting on the kilos for movies such as Taiwanese romance film Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? - slated to open in Taiwan this year (2013) - he said he cut down on interviews and performances.
The 46-year-old said in Mandarin: "For Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?, I had a more nerdy look, I got fat. I kind of hid myself, didn't do many interviews and stopped performances."
But he was forced to lose weight when he was asked to join the 30th anniversary celebrations of record label Rock Records in 2011. He was an artiste under Rock Records from 1996 to 2005.
