Beam me up: Hollywood Walk honours for 'Star Trek' actor
LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Star Trek actor Walter Koenig on Monday became the most recent cast member from the cult sci-fi television series to earn a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Koenig, who played Chekov in the TV show, was joined by fellow stars George Takei (Sulu) and in Spock actor Leonard Nimoy at the Tinsel Town sidewalk star-unveiling ceremony.
"This is something that you hope and wish for, dream about, but something you never expect to really happen," Koenig said when it was announced in 2011 that he would receive a star. "It's a joyous occasion and I am deeply honoured."
The ceremony on the famous stretch of Hollywood Boulevard came two days after the 46th anniversary of the premiere of Star Trek, which also became a big-screen hit.
