Misdiagnosed a few years ago with what he believed to be depression, British singer Robbie Williams actually had low testosterone.
That in itself was shocking considering his stock-in-trade has been machismo.
He now takes hormone jabs twice a week, and you wonder whether that has fuelled the loveable mix of braggadocio and gratitude on his new album, Take The Crown.
"I am the wreckage of the past/And I am not afraid to ask," he admits in one of the brashly sleek pop-rock anthems that will surely get you clapping and tearing a little.
