Art Fission's new dance production spans space and time
Dance company Art Fission's latest production, which opens this Friday (March 15), weaves together seven different narratives, scattered across space and time.
The hour-long 7 Dance Fictions In An Ice Room is the brainchild of Cultural Medallion recipient Angela Liong, who is also the choreographer and artistic director of the dance company.
It features five dancers, aged 24 to 34, as well as four-year-old Dylan Chan, who attends the company's enrichment classes.
While Liong does not shy away from tackling social and political issues - 2009's The Weather Stations was a commentary on climate change, and last year's The Folly Of A Garden series was inspired by the auction of plundered Chinese artefacts - she prefers to leave 7Dance Fictions open to the interpretation of the audience.
