Taste Japan in a cocktail. Bartender and executive director of bespoke cocktail bar Maison Ikkoku, Ethan Leslie Leong, has concocted three new Japanese- inspired cocktails including a Maccha-tini made with Zen, a green tea liqueur, green tea, vodka, almonds and chardonnay grapes.
It is all for an upcoming cocktail promotion called Mixology Japan, which runs from Friday till the end of May.
The bar in Kandahar Street is one of eight, including The Horse's Mouth at Forum The Shopping Mall and Bar Stories in Haji Lane, that will be offering specially created cocktails made with green tea; Midori, a Melon liqueur; and Paraiso Lychee, a lychee liqueur.
The cocktail promotion is one of the new additions to the annual epicurean fest Gourmet Japan, which celebrates Japanese cuisine, chefs and restaurants. This year, the month-long festival runs from Friday to May 31.
