6 new Hawker Masters crowned at Asian Masters gala dinner

Six new Hawker Masters were crowned at the Asian Masters gala dinner at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore on Wednesday night.

The winners of the third annual Singapore Hawker Masters awards, jointly organised by The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao, are: Nura & Tara at ABC Brickworks Market and Food Centre for lontong; Rojak & Mee Siam at Geylang Serai Market and Food Centre for Indian Rojak; Song Zhou Luo Bo Gao in Bedok Interchange Food Centre for black carrot cake; Whitley Road Big Prawn Mee at Old Airport Road Food Centre for prawn noodle soup; Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh in Havelock Road for bak kut teh; and Xiu Ji Ikan Bilis Yong Tau Foo at Chinatown Complex Food Centre for yong tau foo.

Previous award categories have included chicken rice, roti prata and nasi lemak.

Mr Andrew Tjioe, executive chairman of the TungLok Group, was also presented with this year’s Asian Masters Icon Award for his contributions to the food and beverage industry.
