On the first day of the new year, Life! looks forward to what these 10 personalities from the fields of arts, design, entertainment and food have planned for this year.

In the arts, the people to watch are Madam Lim Geok Cheng, the new principal of the School of the Arts; upcoming painter Ruben Pang who has a solo show coming up; and the husband-and-wife team of Nelson Chia and Mia Chee, who have started a new Chinese theatre group.

Crossover sensation Benjamin Kheng also has a busy year ahead with his band The Sam Willows going on a mini North American tour and an acting gig in a new musical.

On the local movie front, familiar face Zoe Tay will be attempting her first English language role while short film veteran Anthony Chen is finally directing his feature movie debut.
