S. Korea lawmaker indicted over pro-N. Korea charges
SEOU (AP) - South Korean prosecutors said they've indicted a left-wing lawmaker on charges that he was plotting a pro-North Korea rebellion to overthrow the government.
Senior prosecutor Kim Soo Nam told a news conference on Thursday that Lee Seok ki was charged with discussing launching strikes on national infrastructure in South Korea with his colleagues in May in the event of a war with North Korea.
Mr Kim said Lee and his colleagues specifically brought up possible targets to attack, such as a telecommunication facility in Seoul.
Mr Kim said Lee believed high tension between the two Koreas this spring would lead to war.
