MUMBAI (AFP) - An apartment block collapsed in the Indian financial hub of Mumbai on Friday, killing one woman and injuring three other people in the latest in a series of deadly building cave-ins, the authorities said.
More victims may be trapped under the debris since the building fell on surrounding structures, local media reports said.
"The deceased is a woman of around 32 years," a municipal official told AFP, asking not to be named. "Three other persons were injured but are reported to be stable," the official said, declining further comment.
Heavy equipment was being used by rescuers to comb the debris to see if there were any other victims.
