Gunmen kill 9 outside a mosque in south-west Pakistan
QUETTA, Pakistan (AFP) - Gunmen killed nine people and wounded 10 others when they opened fire outside a Sunni Muslim mosque on the outskirts of Pakistan's southwestern city of Quetta on Friday, police said.
The shooting came a day after a suicide bomber targeted a police funeral and killed 38 people, mostly police officers, in the same city.
"Four people opened fire when people were coming out of the mosque after saying Eid prayers, killing nine people and wounding 10 others," senior local police official, Mr Bashir Ahmad Brohi told AFP.
He said that four people died on the spot while five others died of their injuries in hospital.
